Expanding Manchester Cabins: A Sustainable Vision Realised by County End Electrical NW
At County End Electrical NW, we're passionate about turning visionary ideas into reality. One such project was the expansion of the Carpark factory at Manchester Cabins, initially envisioned by Frank Rothwell during his first rowing trip across the Atlantic. Inspired by his adventure, Frank decided to double the size of the multi-use factory, aiming to increase its output and streamline the construction of cabins and carpark decks simultaneously. However, shortly after laying out these ambitious plans, Frank retired to pursue his dream of building a steam engine, passing the torch to his son, Luke Rothwell.
A Legacy of Innovation and Sustainability
Luke Rothwell inherited not only his father's vision but also his passion for innovation and sustainability. Known for his commitment to energy efficiency, Luke spearheaded the installation of the largest solar array in Greater Manchester in 2011, covering Manchester Cabins' two sites. This forward-thinking approach set the stage for the next phase of the factory's expansion.
The Challenge of Sustainable Heating
Fast forward 10 years, and we were tasked with designing the factory extension. With an abundance of solar energy but no additional gas supply available, it was clear that electricity would be the primary heat source. However, initial inquiries revealed that the existing electrical capacity was insufficient to support an all-electric solution. We faced a conundrum: how to heat the factory without compromising power for lighting and machinery.
Discovering the Perfect Solution
After extensive research, we discovered Winterwarm and their efficient heat pump systems. Their 4:1 ratio heat pumps provided an ideal solution, allowing us to design a system that was both viable and sustainable. With the calculations in place, the project moved forward, aligning with our commitment to innovative and energy-efficient solutions.
Bringing the Vision to Life
At County End Electrical NW, we pride ourselves on our ability to adapt and overcome challenges. This project exemplifies our dedication to delivering top-notch results, ensuring that Manchester Cabins not only expanded its operations but did so in an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient manner. Our collaborative efforts have resulted in a factory that stands as a testament to forward-thinking design and sustainable practices.
In conclusion, the expansion of the Carpark factory at Manchester Cabins showcases our ability to bring visionary projects to life. Through innovative solutions and a commitment to sustainability, County End Electrical NW has played a crucial role in transforming Frank Rothwell's dream into a reality, ensuring that the factory operates efficiently and sustainably for years to come.
